Baby Herman's Story
Herman came to us at just 3 weeks old, weighing a tiny 250g. Fragile, vulnerable, and already fighting a battle he didn’t deserve.
He suffered severe conjunctivitis before his eyes had even opened, which led to a deformity in his right eye. Swabs confirmed Mycoplasma felis, a bacteria that had spread from his nasal passages into the eye, causing irreversible damage. His third eyelid fused, and ultimately his eye had to be removed.
Despite everything he’s been through… Herman has never let it define him. Now 4 months old and nearly 3kg, he is full of life, love, and personality.
Is Baby Herman right for you?
Personality: Bold & confident
Playful (he absolutely loves a good rough & tumble!)
Exceptionally affectionate
A proper purr machine — his whole body vibrates
Completely people-focused — he just wants to be with you
Likes: Loves a rough play, purrs so loudly his whole body vibrates and enjoys his grub.
Things to know: Our vet feels that he should go to his new home as an only cat. .He is fine with dogs and could live with a family with older children. Due to him only having one eye which doesn’t affect him in the slightest but will impair his depth perception, we are looking for an indoor only home or one with a Catio or cat proofed garden.
He is one of those rare cats that everyone falls for instantly. He is not just beautiful on the outside and he has the most genuinely lovely nature
His home is not negotiable so please read carefully. We will only consider homes that fall into the following:
Strictly indoor-only home
A calm, low-stress environment as this is essential for his wellbeing
No other cats or kittens in the household
Dogs only if they are calm and proven to be cat-friendly
Older, cat-savvy children only
A home where he will not be left alone for long periods as he thrives on human company
A committed adopter who understands his start in life and will continue to prioritise his care
We will continue to support Herman medically and any treatment relating to his condition will be covered by us, but adopters must be able and willing to travel to our vets in Bexleyheath.
Herman has already fought harder than most cats ever should have to. We owe him a future that is safe, calm, and full of love, nothing less. This is not first come, first served. We will take the time to find the right home.
If you truly feel you can offer Herman everything he needs please get in touch and tell us about the home you can provide.
Please only apply if you meet all of his requirements.
